On Thursday, the benchmark indices were trading in the green with the Sensex up around 65 points or 0.10% at 80,775, while the Nifty-50 was up around 26 points or 0.10% at 24,640. About 1,333 shares have advanced; 1,901 declined and 130 are unchanged on the BSE.
Top gainers and losers on the BSE Sensex index:
The top Sensex gainers were Stata Bank of India, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd and IndusInd Bank while the top Sensex losers were Ultratech Cement Ltd, Tata Steel Ltd and Asian Paints Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading in the red with the BSE Mid-cap index down 0.65% and the BSE Small-Cap Index down 0.61%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Torrent Power Ltd and IDBI Bank. In contrast, Just Dial Ltd and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd were the top small-cap gainers.
The BSE FMCG Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE Capital Goods Index was the top losing sector. The BSE FMCG Index gained by 0.35%, up by Emami Ltd and Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd while the BSE Capital Goods Index plunged by 1.60%, down by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd and Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd.
