On Friday, the benchmark indices were trading in the green with the Sensex up around 125 points or 0.20% at 72,750, while the Nifty-50 was up around 55 points or 0.24% at 22,066. About 2,438 shares have advanced; 1,110 declined; and 138 are unchanged on the BSE.
Top gainers and losers on the BSE Sensex index:
The top Sensex gainers were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Titan Company Ltd and Tata Steel Ltd while the top Sensex losers were Tech Mahindra Ltd, Infosys Ltd and Wipro Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading in the green, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.16% and the BSE Small-Cap Index up 1%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd and Indian Railway Finance Ltd, while the top small-cap gainers were Manoj Vaibhav Gems N Jewellers Ltd and Prakash Industries Ltd.
The BSE Realty Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE Information Technology Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Realty Index gained by 1.60%, up by Brigade Enterprises Ltd and Macrotech Developers Ltd while the BSE Information Technology Index is up by 1.70% led by LTI Mindtree Ltd and HCL Technologies Ltd.
In the pre-opening session, these three stocks were trending: Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, Fineotex Chemical Ltd and Larsen & Toubro Ltd.
