On Monday, the benchmark indices were trading lower, with the Sensex down around 190 points or 0.29% at 65,209 and the Nifty-50 down around 72 points or 0.37% at 19,472. About 840 shares have advanced, 2,588 declined, and 199 are unchanged on the BSE.
The top Sensex gainers were ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance Ltd and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, whereas the top Sensex losers were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Tata Steel Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading lower, with the BSE Mid-cap index down 1% and the BSE Small-cap index down 2%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were CG Power & Industrial Solutions Ltd and IPCA Laboratories Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Sukhjit Starch & Chemicals Ltd and Dodla Diary Ltd.
All the sectoral indices were trading in red with The BSE Telecommunication Ltd Index and BSE Realty Index being the top gainers. The BSE Telecommunication Index plunged by 2.50%, down by ITI Ltd and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd and the BSE Energy Index down by 0.86% led by Deep Industries Ltd and Indraprastha Gas Ltd.
