On Wednesday, the benchmark indices were trading in the red with the Sensex down around 185 points or 0.23% at 80,250, while the Nifty-50 was down around 40 points or 0.12% at 24,470. About 2,377 shares have advanced; 606 declined and 113 are unchanged on the BSE.
Top gainers and losers on the BSE Sensex index:
The top Sensex gainers were ITC Ltd, Tata Motors Ltd and Titan Company Ltd while the top Sensex losers were Bajaj Finance Ltd, Nestle India Ltd and Hindustan Unilever Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading in the green with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.66% and the BSE Small-Cap Index up 1.64%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd and REC Ltd. In contrast, Sportking India Ltd and Ethos Ltd were the top small-cap gainers.
The BSE Consumer Durables Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE Realty Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Consumer Durables Index gained by 1.80%, up by Kalyan Jewellers India Ltd and Rajesh Exports Ltd while the BSE Realty Index plunged by 1.45%, down by DLF Ltd and The Phoenix Mills Ltd.
In the pre-opening session, these three stocks were trending: Manoj Vaibhav Gems N Jewellers Ltd, PC Jeweller Ltd and RailTel Corporation Ltd.
