On Wednesday, the benchmark indices were trading in the green with the Sensex up around 445 points or 0.61% at 72,916, while the Nifty-50 up around 112 points or 0.51% at 22,117. About 1,938 shares have advanced; 1,180 declined; and 111 are unchanged on the BSE.
Top gainers and losers on the BSE Sensex index:
The top Sensex gainers were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Titan Company Ltd and Axis Bank while the top Sensex losers were Tech Mahindra Ltd, Nestle India Ltd and JSW Steel Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading in green with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.41% and the BSE Small-Cap Index up 0.26%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were SJVN Ltd and NHPC Ltd, while the top small-cap gainers were Gravita India Ltd and Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd.
All the sectoral indices were trading in the green with BSE Energy Index and BSE Oil & Gas Index being the top gainers. The BSE Energy Index surged by 1.48%, up by Aegis Logistics Ltd and Castrol India Ltd while the BSE Oil & Gas Index surged by 1.44 per cent, up by Reliance Industries Ltd and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.
In the pre-opening session, these three stocks were trending: ABB Ltd, Zomato Ltd and Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd.
