Domestic indices experienced a significant downturn in today’s trading session, primarily impacted by notable losses in the metals, oil & gas, capital goods, and auto sectors. While all sectoral indices were trading lower, the FMCG and banking sectors were relatively less affected compared to others.
At 10:40 am, the BSE Sensex plunged 1.02% reaching a level of 79,535. The Nifty 50 index tumbled 1.07% to the 24,171 level. On the Sensex, Maruti Suzuki and Hindustan Unilever were among the top gainers, whereas Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Steel and HCL Technologies were among the market draggers.

Shares of Max Healthcare Institute Ltd saw a 14-fold rise in trading volume, trading marginally lower and reaching an intraday low of Rs 914.40 per share on the BSE. The company is primarily engaged in providing healthcare services through primary care clinics, multi-specialty hospitals, medical centres, and super-specialty hospitals, offering operation and management, medical services, clinical, radiology, pathology, and related healthcare services.
Shares of JM Financial Ltd were trading around 2% lower, reaching an intraday low of Rs 93.13 per share on the BSE. JM Financial operates as a diversified financial services group with integrated operations across several key segments. Its Integrated Investment Bank serves institutional, corporate, government, and ultra-high net worth clients, offering investment banking, institutional equities, research, private equity funds, fixed income, private wealth management, Portfolio Management Services (PMS), syndication, and finance.
