Indian benchmark indices opened the trading session on a lower note, reflecting the general weakness in most Asian markets. Banks, financial services, auto, and information technology sectors reported significant losses, while telecommunication and capital goods stocks attempted to counterbalance the downturn.
At 10:05 am, the BSE Sensex fell 0.45% reaching a level of 74,821. The Nifty 50 index declined 0.45% to the 22,785 level. On the Sensex, Power Grid Corporation of India, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries and Nestle India were among the top gainers, whereas IndusInd Bank, HDFC Bank and UltraTech Cement Company were among the market draggers.

Shares of PNB Housing Finance Ltd experienced a significant surge in trading volume and selling pressure, plummeting more than 8% today to reach an intraday low of Rs 724.55 per share on the BSE. Shares representing a 2.7% stake in the company changed hands in a block deal today. The company provides various loans to retail customers, encompassing individual home loans, loan against property, non-resident property loans, and more.
Shares of Campus Activewear Ltd saw an around fivefold increase in trading volume, surging more than 12% to hit an intraday high of Rs 281.80 per share on the BSE. As one of India’s largest sports and athleisure footwear brands by value and volume, the company manufactures a wide range of footwear, including running shoes, walking shoes, casual shoes, floaters, slippers, flip-flops, and sandals, available in various colours, styles, and at affordable prices.
Shares of 3M India Ltd experienced a threefold rise in trading volume, gaining more than 4% today. The company designs, manufactures, and distributes specialized tools and services for diverse markets. It operates in various segments, including safety & industrial, manufacturing, automotive, energy, transportation, electronics, health care, and consumer.
