After a robust rally earlier, benchmark indices experienced a notable decline today, affected by losses in the banking, financial services, consumer durables, and metal sectors. In contrast, broader indices demonstrated resilience, showing notable gains.
At 10:15 am, the BSE Sensex declined 0.45% reaching a level of 79,687. The Nifty 50 index fell 0.31% to the 24,228 level. On the Sensex, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Industries and JSW Steel were among the top gainers, whereas HDFC Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra and Titan were among the market draggers.

Shares of Kaya Ltd experienced an eightfold surge in trading volume and, amid heavy buying interest, were locked at a 10% upper circuit at Rs 551.55, hitting a new 52-week high on the BSE. The company provides skincare and hair care solutions through a network of clinics across India and the Middle East.
Shares of Ahluwalia Contracts (India) Ltd witnessed a fivefold rise in trading volume, soaring around 18% to reach an intraday high of Rs 1,540 per share on the BSE. The company specializes in engineering and contract construction, delivering state-of-the-art infrastructure and building projects across India. It has experience working on residential, commercial, institutional, and corporate office projects, as well as power plants, hospitals, hotels, IT parks, metro stations and depots, and automated car parking lots for both government and private clients.
