Western Carriers (India) Limited (WCIL) has announced the receipt of a significant work order from Vedanta Limited. The contract, valued at approximately ₹139 crore, covers material handling operations for imports, finished goods (FG) domestics, and exports at Vedanta’s JSG Plant.
The contract spans a duration of 4-year and involves end-to-end logistics and material handling at Vedanta’s plant. This long-term engagement highlights WCIL’s operational capabilities and strengthens its position in the material handling segment.
Vedanta Limited, a leading player in natural resources, was awarded this contract as part of its ongoing infrastructure and operational upgrades at the JSG Plant. WCIL’s role will include managing logistics for inbound and outbound materials, streamlining processes, and supporting Vedanta’s supply chain.
This contract aligns with WCIL’s broader strategy to expand its industrial logistics portfolio. With an estimated revenue boost over the next 4-year, this project underscores the company’s expertise in managing complex logistics operations.
Following the announcement, WCIL’s share price surged by 9.73%, reflecting investor optimism about the company’s growth trajectory. As of 9:29 AM on January 3, 2025, the stock demonstrated strong trading activity.
