About Cyient

History 

Cyient Limited, originally known as Infotech Enterprises Ltd, was established in 1991. This corporation primarily focuses on providing advanced technology services and solutions, strongly emphasising geospatial, engineering design, IT solutions, and data analytics. Headquartered and operating major development facilities in India, Cyient serves a diverse international clientele through its subsidiaries located in countries such as the USA, UK, Germany, Japan, Australia, Singapore, and India. In April 1997, the company expanded by acquiring SRG Infotech, a firm specialising in Oracle and Visual Basic client-server environments. In September 1997, the company was listed on the BSE and NSe. In January 1999, Cyient partnered with Navionics Italy for digitisation and conversion services. By July 1999, they had established a wholly-owned subsidiary in the USA, Infotech Software Solutions Inc., focused on computer software and related services. The acquisition of Cartographic Sciences Pvt Ltd from Analytical Surveys Inc, USA, in September 1999 and the subsequent merger in April 2000 marked further expansion. Cyient continued to grow through strategic partnerships and acquisitions. In May 2000, they entered a Master Services Agreement with Pratt & Whitney, a division of the UTC group. In April 2001, they acquired the European GIS distributor Map Centric. In September 2003, Infotech Aerospace Services Inc. was incorporated in Puerto Rico for engineering design services, alongside a long-term contract with Bombardier Transportation. In March 2005, Cyient acquired Tele Atlas India Pvt Ltd and established branch offices in Singapore and Australia, marking its expansion into the Asia Pacific region. They also inaugurated a geospatial production facility in Frostburg, Maryland, USA, in May 2005. Cyient's reputation for excellence was recognised in Forbes Asia's '200 Best under a Billion' list, and they were rated among the top 100 global outsourcing companies by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals in 2007. The following year, they secured a 3-year GIS/Data Management contract from Powercor Australia & CitiPower Limited and set up a marketing office in Japan. The acquisitions of TTM India Pvt. Ltd and 100% stake in Infotech Enterprises Engineering Services Pvt Ltd in October 2008, Daxcon Engineering Inc., USA, in January 2010, and Wellso Inc., USA, in August 2010 furthered their capabilities and market reach. By 2011, IGIL (Infotech Geospatial India Ltd) had become a wholly-owned subsidiary. The company also established branches in South Korea, Taiwan, and South Africa between 2012 and 2013. In March 2014, Cyient announced the acquisition of Softential Inc., enhancing its service management and service assurance solutions. The company's renaming from Infotech Enterprises Limited to Cyient Limited in May 2014 marked a significant rebranding effort. Further expansions included opening the Dallas Engineering Center in September 2014 and establishing delivery centres in Taiwan in 2015. During 2016 -2022, Cyient acquired companies like WorkForce Delta, Celfient, and Citec, expanding its global footprint and enhancing its service offerings in various sectors. The launch of CyFAST, CyMedge, and PlatformX solutions in 2023 demonstrates Cyient's commitment to innovation and growth in the technology services industry.

It encompasses a range of services, from Mechanical and Electrical & Electronics Engineering to IT Infrastructure Management, Software Development, and Project Management.

BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder and Chairman  BVR Mohan Reddy, founder and chairman of Cyient, established the company in 1991, pioneering the "Engineered in India" concept. He has significantly contributed to the global engineering services sector, generating substantial exports. Reddy has held leadership roles, including Chairman of NASSCOM and CII Southern Region, and chairs the National Education Council and the boards of IIT Hyderabad and Roorkee.
