About Swasti Vinayaka Synthetics

Established by Ramprasad Poddar of the Siyaram Poddar group in 1981, Vinayaka Synthetics changed its name to Swasti Vinayaka Syenthetics in 1998-99. The plants are located at Tarapur and Bhiwandi, in Maharashtra. The company's suitings and shirtings are sold under the brand name Vinayaka all over the nation through a network of wholesalers and retailers. In Sep.'95, the company launched an entirely new range of premium suitings comprising super luxurious satins, durable twills, sturdy matts and super soft light-weight fabric. Some of the sub-brands are Celebration, Elcid, Brilliant and Super Velvet-touch. Keeping in tune with the changing times and trends, VSL has entered the export market and is focussing on the international market. So far, the Company has exported to Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Singapore and other east Asian countries. In 1992-93, VSL issued rights (1:2) to augment its working capital. The Company has implemented a cost reduction & restructuring excercise. In order to increase the sales of the retailing division, the Company is converting the top floor of its Tarapur plant into a Hyper-market catering to the needs of retailers and customers at ex-factory rates.
