About Welcast Steels
Incorporated in 1972, Welcast Steels (WSL) is in the business of manufacturing grinding media with an installed capacity of 9000 tpa, Castings & Ingots (1000 tpa), page impressions and buds. Vinod Narain is the chairman.
During 96-97, the company has upgraded its heat treatment technology. It has entered into technical collaboration with Magotteaux International, Belgium, for manufacturing grinding media of international standard for the mining industry to boost its exports.
The company was awarded ISO 9002 Certification by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance during 1999-2000.
The company is planning to develop new grades of Grinding Media for wider application and also introduce fresh technology and to improve manufacturing process for increasing productivity. It is also planning to install a captive power plant of 5.1 MVA to make up the energy shortfall.
