Upcoming Trading Holiday (31-Mar-25) & Settlement Holiday (01-Apr-25)
Following are the upcoming holidays and their implications that you must take note of:
- 31-Mar-25 - Trading Holiday on account of Id-ul-Fitr (Ramadan Eid)
- BSE and NSE will be closed for the trading of Equity, Derivatives, Currency, and Debt segments.
- The evening session of the Commodity Trading will remain open.
- There will be no settlement of funds and securities on this day.
- 01-Apr-25 - Settlement Holiday due to the Annual Bank Closing
- The Currency Segment will be closed for trading on this day.
- Other segments are open to trading.
What this means for you:
You can place your Trades as usual, except the stock purchased on 28-Mar-25 will not be allowed to be sold on 01-Apr-25. The settlement of funds/securities will be processed as detailed in the table below:

Note: Stock purchased on 28-Mar-25 will not be allowed to be sold on 01-Apr-25. This change is only for double pay-in/payout of stock due to the settlement holiday on 01-Apr-25 and is not a regular change.

Just so you know: Settlement holidays refer to days when markets (except the Currency segment) are open for trading but when Depositories and/or Banks are closed. Due to this, all trades made during that day will be settled in the next settlement cycle, as per the respective segments.
