The Government of India has undertaken significant measures to enhance the welfare and social security of workers, particularly focusing on unorganised and migrant labour. Recently, the portal has evolved into a “One-Stop-Solution,” merging 12 social security and welfare schemes under a single umbrella.
Notable schemes integrated with eShram include the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan (PM-SYM), which offers pension benefits, and the National Career Service (NCS) Portal, which helps workers find suitable employment opportunities. The portal also connects with the Skill India Digital Portal to enhance skill development and apprenticeship programs. As of November 26, 2024, over 30.42 crore workers have registered on the platform, showcasing its vast reach and acceptance. By providing seamless access to multiple schemes, eShram ensures that workers can monitor and avail of their benefits with ease.

Key provisions include mandatory appointment letters, fixed-term employment, re-skilling funds for retrenched workers, and maternity benefits with 26 weeks of paid leave. Additionally, initiatives like free annual health check-ups and crèche facilities for establishments with over 50 employees reflect a forward-thinking approach to worker welfare.
