On Tuesday, the benchmark indices were trading in the red with the Sensex down around 180 points or 0.22% at 71,780 while the Nifty-50 down around 12 points or 0.06% at 21,726. About 2,209 shares have advanced, 1,324 declined and 157 are unchanged on the BSE.

The top Sensex gainers were JSW Steel Ltd, Infosys Ltd and Tata Steel Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were Reliance Industries Ltd, Bajaj FinServ Ltd and Bajaj Finance Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.40% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.79%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Shakti Pumps (India) Ltd and Dolat Algotech Ltd.
The BSE Oil & Gas Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE Consumer Durables Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Oil & Gas Index soared 3% led by Petronet LNG Ltd and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd while the BSE Consumer Durables Index was down 0.50% dragged down by Titan Company Ltd and Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd.
