Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.
The US stocks turned in a lackluster performance during trading on Friday After moving mostly lower over the past few sessions. The major averages showed a lack of direction but managed to end the session modestly higher. The Dow rose 0.4 percent to 27876 and Nasdaq inched up by 0.2 percent to 8520.
The UK stocks bounced back from two sessions of losses on Friday after the Wall Street Journal said Chinas chief trade negotiator has invited his American counterparts to Beijing for a new round of facetoface talks helping revive investor hopes for a trade deal. The FTSE 100 rose by 0.8 percent to 7297.
On domestic front Indian shares fell notably on Friday with telecom and IT stocks pacing the declines. IT stocks tumbled after reports that the U.S. was planning tightening of visa norms to protect American workers. The benchmark BSE Sensex was down by 0.5 per cent to 40359.
