U.S. stocks showed a strong move back to the upside during trading on Friday after coming under pressure over the course of the previous session. The major averages all moved to the upside on the day although the Dow underperformed its counterparts. The Dow rose by 0.7 percent to to 34043 and the Nasdaq surged by 1.4 percent to 14017.
U.K. stocks edged lower on Friday as the pound strengthened in reaction to upbeat retail sales and PMI data released earlier in the day. The benchmark FTSE 100 dropped by 0.3 percent to 6916.
Indian shares ended lower on Friday with mixed global cues and renewed worries about the Covid19 situation in the country weighing on sentiment. The benchmark BSE Sensex fell by 0.4 percent to 47878.
