US stocks moved mostly higher during Mondays session. The advance on the day lifted the major averages to new record closing highs. The Dow climbed 0.7 percent to 30404 and the Nasdaq rose 0.7 percent to 12899.
U.K. stocks held steady on Thursday as speculation grew that a Brexit trade deal was imminent. A stronger pound was keeping gains in check. The benchmark FTSE 100 inched up by 0.1 per cent to 6501.
Indian shares posted fresh alltime closing highs on Monday as investors indulged in some hectic buying almost across the board. Continued optimism about coronavirus vaccines and news about U.S. President Donald Trump signing a coronavirus relief and governmentspending package into law on Sunday contributed to the buoyant mood in the market. The benchmark SP BSE Sensex rose by 0.8 percent to 47354.
