Indian markets are likely to open flat tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.
The US stocks showed a lack of direction throughout the trading session on Friday as many traders remained away from their desks following Christmas. The major averages spent the day bouncing back and forth across the unchanged line before closing mixed. The Dow edged up 0.1 percent to 28645 while the Nasdaq edged down 0.2 percent to 9006.
UK stocks are up in positive territory Friday morning extending gains from Tuesday. The FTSE 100 increased by 0.3 per cent to 7654.
On domestic front Indian market ended on an upbeat note on Friday as the bulls stormed the ring after having stayed away on the sidelines for three successive days. The benchmark BSE Sensex was up by 1.0 percent to 41575.
