Big Figure

The concept of Big Figure may seem insignificant at first, but in the world of finance, it holds great importance. It refers to the first three digits of a currency quote, representing the stem or whole value of the price. For instance, in a Yen quote of 112.082/84, the Big Figure is 112. Similarly, in a Euro quote of 1.2750/52, the Big Figure is 1.27. Forex brokers often drop the Big Figure, quoting the price as "50/52". Understanding and keeping track of the Big Figure is crucial in the field of finance.
