Discount interest rate

Greetings, students. Allow me to enlighten you on the concept of discount in finance. This refers to the interest that is deducted from the face value of a bill of exchange or promissory note for a specific period of time. Now, the discount rate is simply the percentage of this discount in relation to the face value, expressed on an annual basis. Understanding this concept is crucial in analyzing financial transactions.
